P2P, Virtual Worlds, and the Obvious

I’m sorry, but is this worthy of New Scientist? Ever since BitTorrent showed up on the scene, has anyone paying even the most remote attention not really figured that some form of a scalable P2P system wasn’t the way to go in creating a massive virtual world? I mean, the New Scientist article itself talks about the same three systems I wrote about earlier. And it’s not like they appeared overnight. If I didn’t know better, either NS’s Will Knight is aka C|Net’s John Borland, or he just seemed to rip off Mr. Borland’s article. Either way, my regard for New Scientist just slipped a notch.
