{"id":1167,"date":"2007-02-12T19:00:45","date_gmt":"2007-02-13T00:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.rebang.com\/?p=1167"},"modified":"2007-02-15T13:34:07","modified_gmt":"2007-02-15T18:34:07","slug":"seth-godin-vs-his-cc-license","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.rebang.com\/?p=1167","title":{"rendered":"Seth Godin vs His CC License"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s a ton of stuff going on in the world of intellectual property; from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/hotnews\/thoughtsonmusic\/\">Steve Jobs&#8217; &#8220;anti-DRM&#8221; letter<\/a> to the whole Google slugfest which ranges from &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/technologyNews\/idUSWEN349520070202\">Google versus Viacom<\/a>&#8221; to <a href=\"http:\/\/arstechnica.com\/news.ars\/post\/20070212-8814.html\">&#8220;Google loves pirates&#8221;<\/a>. There&#8217;s just too much to cover (though I did weigh in on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediangler.com\/2007\/02\/12\/upload-sites-get-a-reality-dose\/#comment-10900\">&#8220;Universal pwns Bolt.com&#8221; situation<\/a> this morning while my site was down). Instead, I wanted to bring everyone&#8217;s attention to something I found rather funny: <a href=\"http:\/\/sethgodin.typepad.com\/seths_blog\/2007\/02\/please_dont_buy.html\">Seth Godin is asking people to NOT buy a book he licensed using Creative Commons (Link)<\/a>. Turns out he chose the wrong option and now some small company is making money off of his &#8220;ideavirus&#8221; by using the CC license <em>as intended<\/em>.
