Then again, maybe there is something to add because the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2007\/05\/10\/technology\/10barbie.html?ex=1336449600&#038;en=52f54381e3c60681&#038;ei=5088&#038;partner=rssnyt&#038;emc=rss\"><em>New York Times<\/em> has a story up today (Link)<\/a> on the &#8220;virtual Barbie&#8221; offering from Mattel. C|Net is carrying a story today <a href=\"http:\/\/msn-cnet.com.com\/2100-1026_3-6182834.html?part=rss&#038;tag=2547-1_3-0-5&#038;subj=news\">on Webkinz (Link)<\/a>. And I figure it&#8217;s only a matter of days or weeks before we hear of an electronically-enhanced <a href=\"http:\/\/www.neopets.com\/\">Neopet<\/a>.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nSo. Anything to add?<\/p>\n<p>Nope.<\/p>\n<p>Are the stories at least worth reading?<\/p>\n<p>Not if you&#8217;re waiting to design your own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spore.com\/\">Spore<\/a>-critter, have it fabbed, stuff it with the hacked guts of a disemboweled Barbie, upload the image to the Barbie website, and dress it up in Paris Hilton-style clothing (but only while she&#8217;s off wearing an orange jumper and her clothes are available, of course).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve not bothered to post on much of the recent news surrounding internet-connected dolls, mainly because the news was all over the place and there really wasn&#8217;t anything to add.
