This <em>isn&#8217;t<\/em> the same stuff I mentioned in March (<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.rebang.com\/?p=1216\">reLink<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>This variation is less about mixing realities in crazy ways and more about a clean, workable interface with obvious practical applications (e.g. an interactive menu system and more for restaurants).<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nAmong other things, at first glance the demo seems to combine <a href=\"http:\/\/bumptop.com\/\">elements of the BumpTop (Link)<\/a> interface {maybe not; can&#8217;t tell for sure}, the &#8220;Multi-Touch&#8221; user interface system (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5JcSu7h-I40\">demonstrated by Jefferson Han at TED &#8211; Link<\/a>), and a variation of RFID tech called &#8220;domino tagging&#8221; which links the screen surface to 3D objects.<\/p>\n<p>Sweet.<\/p>\n<p>{<strong>Update:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openthefuture.com\/2007\/05\/the_surface_of_the_metaverse.html\">Open the Future has a post worth reading (Link)<\/a>. Included in the entry is a link to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/surface\/\">Microsoft&#8217;s dedicated &#8220;surface computing&#8221; website (Link)<\/a> which includes more videos, and a link to a Popular Mechanix review.
