Gone are the days when people trusted journalists; as much their own fault as anyone else&#8217;s as far as I&#8217;m concerned. And if there is one magazine that&#8217;s proving itself especially good at looking bad, for me it has to be Forbes.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nMaybe some of us just expect more from that particular magazine. Or maybe between the wince-inducing coverage of virtual worlds (<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.rebang.com\/?p=1311\">reLink<\/a>) and their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/home\/wallstreet\/2007\/08\/28\/industrial-design-trends-forbeslife-trends07-cx_ls_0828design.html\">current  ho-hum piece on Industrial Design trends (Link)<\/a>, I just seem to find them in my crosshairs more than most.<\/p>\n<p>The Core77 site, which brought the current <a href=\"http:\/\/www.core77.com\/blog\/object_culture\/10_industrial_design_trends_you_cant_ignore_says_forbes_7311.asp\">article to my attention (Link)<\/a>, gives you an idea of how sad the article is:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>So Forbes didn&#8217;t exactly miss the boat. Regarding its new slideshow feature, &#8220;10 Industrial Design Trends You Can&#8217;t Ignore,&#8221; we&#8217;ll admit that you really &#8220;can&#8217;t&#8221; ignore these &#8220;trends&#8221; since they&#8217;ve been around for ages already.<br \/>\n&#8230;<br \/>\nNot terribly accurate but not exactly terrible either. To be fair, it&#8217;s a somewhat relevant yet slow-pokey peek into the world of ID for the average Joe.
