{"id":479,"date":"2005-12-08T17:41:34","date_gmt":"2005-12-08T22:41:34","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=479"},"modified":"2005-12-11T16:14:53","modified_gmt":"2005-12-11T21:14:53","slug":"forbes-raises-questions-of-design","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.rebang.com\/?p=479","title":{"rendered":"Forbes Raises Questions Of Design"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday I caught <a href=\"http:\/\/www.core77.com\/blog\/business\/forbes_picks_top_10_3183.asp\">an entry on Core77 <\/a>about a Forbes article, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/lifestyle\/2005\/12\/05\/tastemakers-industrial-designers-cx_tm_1206taste_ls.html\"><em>Tastemakers: Industrial Designers<\/em><\/a>&#8220;. It&#8217;s always great to have Industrial Design in the spotlight. And I can forgive the author calling Symbol Technologies &#8220;an industrial design firm in Holtsville, N.Y.&#8221;, when they&#8217;re obviously a manufacture of scanners (I&#8217;m wondering if the Forbes website software automatically added the NYSE link\/symbol in the piece since it doesn&#8217;t seem like the author ever checked <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/finance\/mktguideapps\/compinfo\/CompanyTearsheet.jhtml?tkr=SBL\">the company profile page on their site<\/a>). However, a review of their Top Designer List slideshow had me thinking the author or whichever people making these lists and writing these stories need to do a bit more research into the field (and then maybe they won&#8217;t make boner mistakes like the one above).<\/p>\n<p>Rather than just post this entry when I first read the article, I decided to post a thread on the Core77 Industrial Design forum.
