PTC Fires Back With Upgrades

There’s more news in the PLM (product life-cycle management) software market. Perhaps as a response to all the hype created by UGS and Dassault, PTC is tooting their own horn now. You can read about their latest collaborative software releases over on Desktop Engineering’s news entry here.

Kind of interesting to see how this software is chipping away at the corporate cube farm barriers. When a big chunk of your development is conducted half a world away, virtual collaboration is most likely the best option. And in that regard, C|Net has some video news stories on the related subject of corporate meetings. Check them here and here (Warning, both open embedded video streams so you’ll want a broadband connection). Now notice the name on one of those software screens: Groove. We all know who owns them now, don’t we?
