Core77 posted notice (Link) that Commonwealth, a husband and wife team exploring – among many other things – rapid-prototyping technology, is partnering with graphic designer Joshua Davis to produce Tropism, the third of five exhibitions being hosted by the Espeis Gallery.
Some of you might remember I posted something about Commonwealth a while back (reLink). All very cool stuff. But I have to admit the image above isn’t from the show… it’s from Commonwealth’s Flickr page (Link).
There are plenty of Tropism-related images on their Flickr account and details of the show over on the Maxalot site (though I haven’t figured out exactly how they organize these things yet, so I’m not sure why that is), but I was especially interested in this unrelated piece. Or rather this detail from another piece.
I’ve asked them to share how they’re designing/modeling it, so maybe we’ll learn something.
In the meantime, if you’re in NYC, the Tropism opening is on June 16th, from 7-10pm at the Espeis Archetype Gallery (Link to Google Map).
