I caught this a couple days ago and besides thinking how cool (and practical) these waterhomes are, was struck by how much they look like the kinds of virtual architecture I see in Second Life (including one design I constructed; it’s easy to “float” stuff in a virtual world… on the water or hundreds of meters in the sky). I was hoping to make time to find a virtual sample, but I didn’t. Oh well. Anyway, check out more of the above floating frameworks on the Waterstudio website. It’s in Dutch, but I only went for the purty pictures anyways. And keep an eye on design blog Inhabitat as they’re posting links to other waterborne architects.
